Our journey

Established in 2017 in London, UK, illustreets has carved a unique path in the world of geospatial data and analytics. Founded by Manuel Timita and Katya Koval, we have established ourselves as pioneers in providing an innovative SaaS platform for geospatial data visualization and analytics. Our robust software has evolved through years of experience and industry insight and is employed by a myriad of industries worldwide, including utilities, civil engineering, retail, and real estate.

Our distinct offering is built on an ability to handle vast volumes of data points, generate instant reports, intertwine maps and data narratives, and enable collaborative analytics and participatory mapping. To date, we have been trusted with mission-critical projects around the globe, including in the United States, Australia, Vanuatu, Cambodia, Nigeria, Chad, the United Kingdom, Haiti, and the Philippines.

Our flagship product, illustreets, is a powerful data management and visualization platform designed to empower users to manipulate, analyze, and present geospatial and other significant data in a customizable and user-friendly interface. From importing raw data to creating compelling visual presentations, our product is meticulously designed to enhance data management and storytelling.

illustreets is organized around user roles, offering varying permissions and capabilities, and facilitating granular control over access and permissions. The platform provides numerous features, such as layers, charts, tables, and stories to complement visualization, dashboards that combine different visualizations, and spatial applications for detailed location-based analysis. illustreets also comes with project management features, adding value to users’ project operations and planning.

Manuel Timita

Technical Director

Manuel Timita is a seasoned programmer with a diverse IT expertise, including Linux, SQL, Java, Python, Node.js, geostatistics, and machine learning. He brings years of experience in building cutting-edge solutions for enterprises, with a specialization in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). His proficiency in melding programming with GIS has been pivotal in shaping illustreets and its innovative approach to geospatial data.

Katya Koval

Commercial Director

Katya brings a blend of investment banking insight and technological proficiency to the table. With a law degree and a masters in Finance she has been a valuable asset to corporations like Lloyds Bank, RBS, Deutsche Bank, and UBS, aiding them through complex regulatory and technology changes. Katya's multifaceted expertise guides illustreets through the dynamic tech landscape with a keen emphasis on ensuring each customer's success.

Johnny Morris

Johnny Morris is a technology and commercial start-up and scale-up leader. He loves building businesses and products. With over 16 years of experience in data and analytics, Johnny has a strong technical background and is skilled in designing, growing, and leading top-performing data, engineering, product, and operational teams. Our business is selling equipment, which brings least cost electrification out to hard to reach areas, so we took our geospatial plannning data and plotted it in illustreets.

It became quickly apparent to our partners that they could make massive savings by setting up decentralised clusters of mesh-grids vs. more traditional centralised solutions. They were able to show this to other engineers and management in their organization and quickly we were able to move to supplying equipment and getting more power to the people.

…to not only make our data visually beautiful but to present complex data as simple and easy to understand dynamic stories to our clients. This is particularly important to us when dealing with highly technical data to enable non-technical clients the ability to easily understand and navigate their way through the GIS apps, without getting lost in a mass of data and information. Previous solutions we had worked with lacked this final piece of the puzzle.

In addition, the SQL engine within illustreets is unrivaled in it’s ease of use - as a relative novice in SQL language, it was easy to get to grips with utilising some of the power of this engine using their simple and user friendly SQL query builder GUI and later move into more advanced queries with the SQL editor.

The support illustreets has provided throughout has been first class and always met with quick responses, even when the support requested has not necessarily been related to illustreets platform!
